Brazil’s Robson Conceicao has claimed Olympic boxing gold for his home country. And he had the home field advantage, being greeted with massive cheers from the audience of fans at the Rio Games.

Conceicao defeated France’s Sofiane Oumiha by unanimous decision. Conceicao wins the second gold medal by a Brazilian man in as many nights at the Rio Olympics, which are to date, the only two gold medals produced by Brazilian men in Rio.

Fitting for his massive applause, this is the first Olympic gold medal for Brazil in boxing (men’s or women’s).
