ANDOVER, MASS. (WHDH) - Two people were seriously injured Monday afternoon when a propane tank exploded at a gas station in North Andover, officials said.

Emergency crews responding around 4 p.m. to a Mobil Gas on Route 125 found two people suffering from burn injuries.

Both victims were airlifted to area hospitals. Their condition was not immediately clear.

There was a flash fire after a camper that was filling up pulled away from the tank, according to fire officials.

The gas station will remain closed as investigators work to determine the cause of the blast.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called to the scene.
