WEATHERSFIELD, Vt. (AP) — Authorities say a New Hampshire woman has gone to Vermont state police in connection with a hit and run on Interstate 91 in which a Norwich University cadet died.

Twenty-two-year-old Keanan Thompson died early Sunday. Police said he was thrown from his Jeep following a crash on Interstate 91 in Weathersfield, then hit by a car driving through the crash scene.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear if he died from the initial crash or the hit-and-run.

Police said the 65-year-old woman went to police Monday and said she believed she may have struck Thompson. Police determined it was her car that was involved in the accident.

The woman has not been charged with a crime. Police are still investigating.
