After a turbulent year over on CBS, Supergirl has officially found a suitable home on the CW, giving us all hope that we’ll get more awesome crossovers like that time she met The Flash. Crossovers within CW’s DC-verse have become an integral part of its storytelling, but in Supergirl’s case a crossover also played a major role in its survival. Kara’s meeting with Barry Allen garnered some strong ratings, proving that given the right environment, the show could flourish just as much as her DC counterparts over on the CW.
Details haven’t been released for any potential crossovers just yet, but at San Diego Comic Con last weekend, Marc Guggenheim confirmed Supergirl would be visiting The Flash….and Arrow….and Legends of Tomorrow.
“It’s an external threat from outside the shows that will involve Supergirl coming over to Flash, then Arrow then Legends of Tomorrow,” Guggenheim told SlashFilm. “I don’t like to oversell. She is going to be coming over but we’re not going to do a full on Supergirl crossover episode. I don’t want to give you the wrong impression.”
This isn’t confirmation of actual crossovers, but it does look that Melissa Benoist will at least be bringing her Kryptonian charm to the rest of the CW’s DC-verse by way of some cameos. Personally, I’d be shocked if there weren’t at least a couple of full-on crossovers again this year, and based on form alone there probably will be. I’m really looking forward to the potential of seeing Kara hanging out with Cisco, because you know he’s going to absolutely freak out when he sees what she’s capable of.
