Apple may be bringing back an old favorite.
The tech company has been granted a patent for a flexible iPhone that can fold in half — much like an old-school flip phone.
The patent for “flexible display devices” features a touchscreen smartphone with a design popularized by clamshell phones – one that opens and closes like a notebook.
It is unknown for sure if there is an iPhone flip phone in the works, but Apple’s patents often provide a glimpse into what the company is thinking for the future.
