NEW YORK (NBC) - Hamilton star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, hosted Saturday Night Live on October 8.
It was the actor’s first time hosting.
His opening monologue consisted of a remix of the song, “My Shot,” from his show.
“I’m fresh off a long run performing in my musical Hamilton,” said Miranda. “…Which fortunately is one of the biggest hits ever on Broadway, so that means most of you watching at home have no idea who I am,” he added.
Miranda joked that his musical Hamilton is a great escape from the “craziness in our world,” because it’s about two famous New York politicians in a “dirty, ugly, mudslinging campaign.”
Emily Blunt is set to host the next show on October 15.
