BOSTON (AP) — Several people have been displaced in a Massachusetts fire that raged on a hot summer night.

Boston fire officials responded to a fire reported at 3 a.m. at an apartment building in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood.

The three-story building’s top floor and roof were engulfed in flames, causing about $300,000 in damage by the time the fire was extinguished.

Authorities say 10 residents were taken out of their homes safely but cannot return.

One firefighter was taken to a nearby hospital for undisclosed injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Temperatures in the city were in the 90s on Saturday.
