Authorities say 11 people, mostly students, have been arrested after a fight broke out at New Britain High School.
Police say two students were fighting outside the school around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when the school resource officer was called to intervene. Crowds gathered after the school dismissed.
Police say the altercation escalated after another person got involved, charged the officer and pushed him over. The officer shot her with a Taser.
Another adult came over and allegedly wielded a steak knife. A youth at the scene was reportedly nicked.
Police say other students at the scene refused to comply when authorities told them to leave.
Officers say eight juveniles face charges including breach of peace. They were released to their parents. Three adults were arrested. No one was immediately identified.
