SANDY CREEK, N.Y. (AP) — Police say four men are dead after two cars slammed into a milk tanker truck that had swerved to avoid deer and jackknifed on a New York highway.

State police say the jackknifed tanker blocked both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Oswego County late Wednesday. Two cars skidded under it, killing all occupants.

Three men from northern New York died in one car. They’re identified as 50-year-old Corey Moore, of Canton, 58-year-old Gregg Williams, of De Kalb Junction, and 63-year-old Roderick Cota, of Norwood.

The victim in the other car was identified as 52-year-old Moon John Kim, of Ellicott City, Maryland.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt.

The accident in Sandy Creek forced the closure of the four-lane highway for about seven hours.
