WALTHAM, MA (WHDH) — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car in Waltham.

A second pedestrian was injured in the accident that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of a large office park on Wyman Street.

Police said two men were in a crosswalk when they were hit by a car. One man was found face down in the road and the other was found on the curbing near a bus stop.

Police said a 65-year-old Watertown man was pronounced dead at a hospital after the crash. 7News has learned the Watertown man had just gotten off a bus. His name was not immediately released.

The other pedestrian, a 70-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

Police believe both men work in the area.

Police said the driver of the SUV involved in the crash remained at the scene.

According to police, the driver is 60 years old and it does not appear he was impaired.

No charges were immediately filed.
