QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - Two workers were freed after a wall collapsed at a construction site in Quincy Tuesday.
The collapse happened at the site of the old Wollaston Theatre. Firefighters said at least one of the men were trapped between the pile of bricks and a steel beam. Firefighters quickly worked to get both men out.
“It was good old-fashioned manpower, we dug him up brick by brick,” said Quincy Fire Capt. Jim Kennedy.
Both workers were taken to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries. They are expected to be OK. They have not been identified but officials said one is a 40-year-old man and the other is a 38-year-old man.
The Occupational Safety & Health Administration shut down the work site and launched an investigation into what caused the wall to collapse.
