Four people are dead after a medical helicopter crashed early Sunday morning in Alabama.

Authorities said the Haynes helicopter was transporting a patient and three crew members when it went down just after midnight central time.

The crashed chopper was found just after 7:00 a.m. and all four people on board were pronounced dead.

They said the chopper was transporting a patient from an accident and went down less than 30 minutes after take-off.

They said it was found about a half-mile from the original accident site.

NTSB and FAA officials will be on site to conduct their own investigations.

There is no word what caused the crash, but officials said there was fog in the area at the time the helicopter went down.
