Eight dogs were rescued after being stranded in a flooded home in Oregon.

Emergency responders north of Portland found five of the dogs standing on the roof, two on top of a truck, and the other one in a boat.

"It’s a lot easier than the evacuation we’ve had to deal with people in their houses where the presents were floating in their house,” said Jayson Rogen of Cowlitz County Dive Rescue. “At least with the dogs, they were just happy to see us."

The dogs are now being cared for at the local humane society.

The federal government estimates flood damage of $15 million in Oregon.
