There is something about 8-year-old Daniel Anderson that is just special.

Daniel, along with his big personality, started a toy drive in Texas last year.

“He said mom I know what I want for Christmas,” said mom Megan Anderson. “I want to help kids who are sick in the hospital.”

Daniel collected more than 700 toys at his mom’s beauty salon and then dropped them off at Texas Children’s Hospital.

This year he has already collected more than 600 toys.

“They’re just so sick in the hospital,” said Daniel, “I just wanted to help them.”

And it is a cause close to Daniel’s heart.

He has spent much of his life in the hospital undergoing surgeries on his ears, eyes and hands.

And that is why Daniel doesn’t go inside when he drops off the toys.

“He’s too tenderhearted,” said Megan Anderson. “He says it would break his heart seeing kids like that.”

And it is that big heart that is making a difference in so many children’s lives.
