Cloudy, cool, wet. This isn’t how you want to finish a workweek heading into a holiday weekend.

Indeed. And as you pack the shorts, t-shirts and sandals, and toss the beach gear into the car for the trip, you’re going to have to trust me. Like Jack Bauer.

There are more showers expected tomorrow as this weather system takes a circuitous route to the ocean. Instead of marching directly offshore, it instead moves south through the Berkshires and THEN heads around Nantucket. Yeah, we’re giving it a lot of leeway before we can signal the all clear. It’s for that reason that I’m not overselling the weather on Saturday. While I’m dubbing the weekend “a work in progress”, I think Saturday is the ugly duckling. It should take until late AM/early PM to clear, and whatever clearing we get will fire up a shower or t-shower. Think of it as running to stand still.

Sunday improves, but again the shower/storm threat will rear its head in the afternoon. Temperatures get a jump as we head into the low 70s in most spots – except at the beaches. Only 60s there.

Monday is the one day that shines, warms and REALLY feels like summer. It’s the one shining star in the bunch and clearly worthy of a dip in the pool, lake or ocean – although keep in mind water temps are still in the low/mid 50s.

Make do and travel safely tomorrow!

Pete
