Did the pelting rain with the tropical downpours wake you up early this morning as drops hit the roof top fast and furious?  It was quite the burst of heavy rain at times, but it’ll also be quite the recovery weather-wise today.

After a widespread 0.50-1.00″ of water, the rain tapers off for most of us by 9AM (10AM Cape). Not only does the rain taper off, but the sun returns, the humidity lowers as temps rise into the mid to upper 70s for the afternoon.  What a turnaround right?

Comfortable weather extends into Sunday, with just a slight risk of an afternoon sprinkle or shower.  Much of the day is dry with highs near 70.

The rain drops are in the 7day forecast, however, we’ll still get our dry stretches too.  Monday and Tuesday, just a few scattered pop-up showers are with us in the afternoon.  A better chance of rain exists Wednesday afternoon and Thursday as another wave of low pressure slides in.  Scattered showers extend into Friday too.

So you’re looking at the 7day thinking we’re going back downhill just in time for next weekend right?  Well, perhaps not.  Although it’s an early look this far out, it does appear the low that plagues us toward the end of next week will move to our east and northeast by Memorial Day Weekend.  That should mean an area of high pressure starts to build in and improve our weather just in time.  Hopefully that trend in the pattern can stick.

Enjoy the weekend!
