Cellar dwellers. That’s how you could describe the temperatures today. Boston just managed to crack the 50 degree mark. Others, not so lucky.

So as long as we’re down here, we might as well set a record, right? With a sweater-worthy high of only 47°, it was cold enough in Worcester to qualify as the coldest high temperature for the date. It broke the old record of 48° set back in…you guessed it…2009. Don’t want to dwell on the chill that much. After all we’re forecasters, not hindcasters. And who really wants to keep talking about it anyway?

Sun’s back tomorrow. Mid and upper 60s will feel great (almost like a heat wave after today), but the sea breeze will knock us back a few degrees at the coast. Friday and Saturday aren’t as bleak as they appear on the 7 day…OK, maybe Friday isn’t.

Weak low pressure will spin into New England Friday afternoon. Although we will start with some sun, clouds could build into scattered showers or storms. Highs still make the low 70s.

As that system scoots offshore on Saturday, it will backhand us with clouds and some spotty sprinkles/showers. I’m seeing a lot more clouds than showers…but it’s less than summery. Sunday looks much brighter.
