EAST BOSTON (WHDH) — Boston Police confirm that two police officers were shot in East Boston Wednesday night.

The shooting happened on Gladstone Street and Boston Police said the officers had been called to a house there for a report of a person with a gun during a domestic disturbance.

Police said the one suspect is dead and sources tell 7News the person barricaded inside a house was the suspect’s roommate. The shelter-in-place has been lifted and police said the scene is neutralized.

Both police officers were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. One officer is in critical condition and the other is in stable condition. Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said both officers are expected to be OK.

Witness said many shots could be heard.
