BRIDGEWATER, MASS. (WHDH) - The roads were quiet in Bridgewater Thursday night after treacherous roads made things difficult for drivers earlier.

At least 11 inches of snow fell in Bridgewater on Thursday. Some roads were impassable to vehicles, leaving police no choice but to block them off.

“The roads are very slippery out there right now,” Mark O’Toole told 7News earlier Thursday as he stopped at a rest stop for food.

Tow truck drivers found themselves busy through the day helping stuck and broken-down vehicles.

“This is, by far, the busiest because last winter wasn’t like this at all,” said tow truck driver Scott Duff Jr.

Officials said their biggest concern is Friday morning’s commute. Plows are out through the night on Thursday to make sure the roads remain clear.
