BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A teenage boy was hit and killed by a car while he was riding his bicycle in Brockton Tuesday.

The boy was struck while he rode his bicycle down  Main Street just before 7 p.m. Tuesday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of the killed teen arrived at the scene last night after police struggled to identify the child.

Police said the driver of the SUV was a teenager and he stopped immediately after hitting the other boy. Carpenter said he was visibly shaken and cooperated with police. No charges have been filed at this point.

Accident reconstruction crews spent hours trying to understand what happened.

The crash is under investigation and it is unclear who is at fault.
