BURLINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Burlington Police say they are actively searching for a man who is accused of trying to purchase items with counterfeit money.

Police say they were called to a Bed, Bath & Beyond in Abbott Park after 2:30 p.m. following a report that two men tried to purchase items with a fake $100 bill.

When they were confronted by a store clerk, the suspects fled the store.

Just 30 minutes later, police received another report that suspects were trying to spend a counterfeit $100 bill at The Paper Store on the Middlesex Turnpike, about a block away.

Officers confronted four suspects and arrested three; one other fled the scene on foot.

Burlington Police, assisted by units from Woburn and Lexington, are still searching for the fourth suspect.
