Some classic summer weather shaping up this week as we roll toward the pinnacle of summer holiday weekends. I’d like to say (blog) that the week is loaded with nothing but sunshine, humidity and comfortable temps but I can’t. The week will offer up heat, building humidity, risk of t-storms and perhaps, a very close call with a tropical storm!

The start of the week is easy with High Pressure just off the east coast. Plan on sunshine, some humidity and temps in the 80s both today and again tomorrow. Great for the beaches, golf courses, tennis courts and club pools. By Wednesday we begin to see more humidity as well as more clouds but it’s still rain-free (small chance of a pop up storm in the Berkshires late in the day).

For Thursday and the 4th there will be a cool front that crawls through New England. Ugh. Neither day is washed out but both days will offer the risk of showers & t-storms. On Thursday I think the storm threat is for interior New England more than the beaches but on Friday the storm threat will be mainly along the coast. For both days, scattered being the operative word.

Meanwhile, as this cool front approaches the east coast this week, the first tropical storm of the year is likely to form off the coast of South Carolina. This storm may try to scoot up the east coast but as of now it looks like the aforementioned cool front will shove the tropical storm out to sea. Rare when we actually root for a cool front around a Holiday Weekend. Stay tuned on this though.

Have a great Holiday Week!
