DANVERS, MASS. (WHDH) - A car crashed through the front of a restaurant in Danvers on Friday.

The crash happened at Jimmy’s Famous Beef and Seafood on High Street at around noon. The car smashed into the glass in the front of the store and narrowly missed striking a customer.

Jimmy, the restaurant owner,  said the woman behind the wheel has been coming to his restaurant for lunch since the 1960s and always orders a BLT sandwich when she comes in. Employees and customers ran to help her after the crash and Jimmy said she was shaken up but not injured. He made her a BLT on the house when she came inside and sat down to order.

Officials said the crash happened when the car’s floor mat got stuck under the brake pedal.
