NORTH CAROLINA (WHDH) — Police in North Carolina found the Mazda Sedan that is a key clue in the murder of 35-year-old Daniel G. Smith in Easton, Massachusetts.

Officials found the sedan in a motel parking lot Tuesday night and believe it will help them develop their investigation.

The suspected murderer, Michael Arthur Noguera, 47 of Lehigh Acres, Florida, was arrested after being found in a trailer in Conway, South Carolina on Sunday night.

Noguera is being charged in Massachusetts with accessory to murder-after the fact, armed robbery and larceny over $250.

Police said the Massachusetts charges are all connected to the Nov. 8 fatal shooting of Daniel G. Smith.

On the day of the shooting, Easton Police received a 911 call from a woman who told police her young sons found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the woods near Pond Street and Longwater Pond..

The Bristol County District Attorney said Smith, who formerly lived in Easton, was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. He was then med-flighted to Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he was pronounced dead on Friday night.

The Bristol County DA says the extradition process for Noguera is underway.
