WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) — Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge won't rule anything out for the next coach except himself.

Ainge says he has tried that gig.

Ainge addressed reporters on Sunday night after the Celtics agreed to let coach Doc Rivers out of his contract to coach the Los Angeles Clippers. Ainge said Rivers felt the pull of a new situation and his departure could turn out best for everybody.

Ainge said he wasn't sure the deal would go through until Monday, so he hasn't started thinking about a new coach. He said it could be someone who is young, or it could be someone experienced. He also said there was no rush because the Celtics don't need the new coach to be in place for the draft or for summer league.
