DRACUT, Mass. (AP) — A dedication ceremony is planned for a park honoring the first Massachusetts casualty of the war in Iraq.

Congresswoman Niki Tsongas, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and others will join the family of Army Specialist Mathew Boule Saturday to dedicate the Mathew G. Boule Memorial Park in Dracut.

The 22-year-old Boule was killed in action in Karbala Gap, Iraq, on April 2, 2003, when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed.

The effort to establish Boule Park in his hometown was led by his mother Sue, his fiance Kat Pintal and others.

The town began the first phase of construction in May.
