After a picture perfect Saturday we start this Sunday off on the mild side for this time of year, but also with more clouds around.  While it won’t be a carbon copy of Saturday, this Sunday turns out to be a decent day itself.

I say decent, rather than perfect, since we have a few scattered showers to track  this morning.  While the bulk of the rain has moved toward Central and Northern New England, a few hit or miss showers extend through Massachusetts and down into Connecticut. They’ll pass on by through our area between the 9am and 1pm timeframe.  It doesn’t mean to expect rain all four hours, it’s meant to highlight the time frame for the chance for one of these hit or miss showers to grace your town for a bit before sliding off to the east.  So overall, the much of the day is still dry.

Temperature-wise, it’ll be a slow go to rise, but by late afternoon, we warm into the lower to middle 60s at the coast, and near 70 inland with partly sunny skies mid to late afternoon.  The wind becomes active out of the south too, so expect a busy breeze, gusting at times over 25mph.

Monday is the warmest of the next 3 days with a gusty south to southwesterly wind.  Highs Monday will range from the 50s across the Cape, 60s over southern Bristol and southern Plymouth County, 70s along and north of route 44 in SE Mass and near 80 across the Merrimack Valley and southern NH.

Tuesday is mild too… mid to upper 60s, but showers start to work in by midday and and a soaking rain arrives in the afternoon and overnight.  Unfortunately, for those wanting to see the “Blood Moon”, I don’t think we’ll get much of a chance early Tuesday AM thanks to clouds moving in. http://earthsky.org/space/what-is-a-blood-moon-lunar-eclipses-2014-2015

That rain ends by predawn Wednesday, but so does the warmth as even 50 degrees will be a challenge to see both Wednesday and Thursday.

Right now, the next bout of rain looks to arrive Saturday with drier and relatively cool weather for Sunday and perhaps Marathon Monday.  We’ll iron out those details in the week to come.

Enjoy the mild weather and the rest of the weekend!
