BOSTON (WHDH) - Hundreds of Boston children shopped for holiday gifts Monday with the Boston Police Department’s annual “Shop with a Cop” event.

Three hundred children were paired up with Boston police officers to pick out gifts at the Target at South Bay Plaza. Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said this is a favorite event of the police department.

“A lot of these kids don’t really have a whole lot so to see the smiles on their face makes it all worth it,” said Evans.

The event is funded by Target and several organizations across the city, including the Police Activities League and the Kaitlyn Keaney Foundation.
