Yes it is cold but hey, no snow or sleet to scrape & shovel….it’s the little things. Also, we have another day of mostly sunny skies so despite the cold start to the day the numbers will reach the mid 40s by afternoon. True, those 40 degree readings fall short by 10 degrees but the strong April sunshine will add some warmth to those numbers throughout the afternoon.

Friday gets the Holiday Weekend off to a bit of a slow start with a bunch of clouds (some sun too) and still a chill in the air, especially along the coast. The morning temps start near 30 and barely reach 50 inland (along the coast, those numbers are stuck in the 40s). By Saturday, High Pressure settles into a nice spot south of New England which will allow milder air to return to the region and still provide a mix of sun & clouds. In fact, similar weather is expected for both Easter Sunday as well as Patriot’s Day.

Looking ahead to the marathon, plan on a great day for running with partly sunny skies, low humidity and a southwest wind 7-17 mph. As for temps, they’ll be in the mid 40s in Hopkinton, low to mid 50s in Wellesley and then low 60s in Kenmore/ Boylston Street throughout the afternoon. #BostonStrong.
