GLOUCESTER , MASS. (WHDH) - The US Coast Guard says it is searching for a man who was swept out to sea while fishing in Gloucester.

Officials say the man was fishing along the rocks at Rafes Chasm Park on Tuesday with another person. That fisherman made it back to shore safely but couldn’t find his partner.

The missing man is reportedly in his early 30s and is wearing blue jeans and black and white sneakers.

The Coast Guard has launched a 47-foot Life Boat as well as an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter. Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and the Gloucester Harbormaster are assisting in the search.
