The Coast Guard sent out search boats and helicopters Tuesday after they said they got a distress call off of Nantucket.
The Coast Guard said someone on a boat made a "Mayday" call and then went silent. They had a search going about 70 nautical miles southwest of the island.
The Coast Guard does know anything about the boat or how many people may be on board.
