MARBLEHEAD, MASS. (WHDH) - The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing kayaker in the water near Marblehead Saturday.

According the Coast Guard, someone notified authorities of an unmarked and unmanned 10-foot grey, green and black kayak found three nautical miles east of Marblehead just before noon. The kayak had a dead cellphone inside.

The Coast Guard launched a search for a possible person in the water because it was not clear if a person was in distress or if the kayak drifted away from shore.

After charging and retrieving information from the cell phone, the owner of the kayak was identified and accounted for.

The search spanned over two hours.
