NORWOOD, MASS. (WHDH) - Firefighters responded to a massive fire at an abandoned soap factory in Norwood Wednesday night.

It started on Davis Avenue, and fire officials said the warehouse has been vacant for several decades.

The fire continued to burn into Thursday morning.

Heavy flames consumed the building and the second story collapsed.

The fire chief said no one was injured in the massive fire, but firefighters did have problems getting water on the flames.

According to the Norwood Fire Department, human involvement was likely the cause of the fire. However, crews have not determined whether the activity was intentional or accidental.

Fire officials said it is possible homeless people had gained access to the building.

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the fire to call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229. The Arson Watch Reward Program provides rewards of up to $5,000 for information.
