DANVERS, MASS. (WHDH) - A two-year-old child in Danvers who was pulled from his family’s in-ground pool has died.

Police received a 9-1-1 call Thursday night just before 8 p.m. for a near-drowning on Drury Lane, where friends and family had gathered.

The child, Griffin Lamar, was discovered in the pool by family members. Family attempted CPR until emergency personnel responded.

The child was transported to Beverly Hospital, then taken by medical helicopter to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he later died.

The case is being investigated by Danvers Police and the Essex District Attorney.
