DARTMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 65-year-old Massachusetts man drowned while quahogging off of Dartmouth.
Detective Kyle Costa says first responders arrived on the scene Tuesday night to find the body of Manuel Marques in Padanaram Harbor about a quarter-mile south of the Padanaram Bridge.
Marques was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he was pronounced dead.
Costa says the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious and the state medical examiner’s office will examine the body. The cause of death remained unknown Wednesday afternoon.
Dartmouth detectives and the district attorney’s office are investigating.
