CHARDON, OHIO (WHDH) — A police officer’s dashcam footage captured a scary crash during a traffic stop in Ohio last week.

In the incident, a Sergeant with the Chardon Post in Ohio had pulled over a motorist on U.S. Route 322.

The officer is then struck by another vehicle.

The woman who had been pulled over escaped from her car by pulling herself out her driver-side window to assist the officer.

The Ohio Highway Patrol says in its Facebook post that the officer’s injuries were not life-threatening, and they used the incident to demonstrate the importance of moving over and slowing down when drivers see flashing or rotating lights on the side of the road.
