A former cellmate of the New Hampshire man prosecutors say raped and killed a University of New Hampshire co-ed is testifying about the defendant’s plans to escape jail and to have two witnesses killed.
Thirty-one-year-old Seth Mazzaglia is charged with first-degree murder in the October 2012 death of 19-year-old Elizabeth “Lizzi” Marriott of Westborough, Massachusetts.
Mazzaglia’s lawyers say his girlfriend — Kathryn McDonough –killed Marriott during rough sex involving restraints.
Cellmate Ryan Bachman says Mazzaglia gave him the code to his bank cards and instructions to buy a gun for his getaway. Bachman says he wanted him to find someone to get rid of a couple who saw Marriott’s body in Mazzaglia’s apartment.
Bachman says he stole Mazzaglia’s money when he got out to buy drugs.
