BOSTON (WHDH) - A sheriff’s deputy was honored Friday for his heroic actions that ended a deadly stabbing spree in Taunton.

Officer James Creed and his wife were invited to the State House for a ceremony.

They were eating at a Bertucci’s at the Silver City Galleria last week when a man ran into the mall and started stabbing people.

Creed shot and killed the suspect, and then he and his wife gave first aid to victims.
