Public Transportation

Amtrak/Commuter Rail

If traveling by commuter rail or Amtrak from points west or south of Boston, get off at the Back Bay Station and walk through the Copley Place Mall to the Prudential Center and follow the signs for the Hynes Convention Center.

If traveling by commuter rail or Amtrak from points north of Boston, you should disembark at North Station. From there, take any B, C or D Green Line “T” inbound to Hynes Convention Center/ICA.

Public Transportation

Take the MBTA Green Line B, C or D “T” to Hynes Convention Center/ICA Station. Exit the station onto Massachusetts Avenue and take an immediate left walking towards Boylston Street. Go left on Boylston Street heading east. The Hynes entrance will be two blocks down Boylston on the south/right side of the street. The Hynes is also accessible by three other subway stations including the Prudential stop and Copley Square stop on the Green Line and the Back Bay stop on the Orange Line. Access to the Hynes from the Prudential stop (E Line only) is completely covered — walk through the Shops at Prudential Center following the signs to the Hynes.

Driving Directions

FROM Logan International Airport:

Follow direction sign from terminals to Sumner Tunnel/Rte.93 North. Take the Rte. 93 North ramp as you exit the Sumner Tunnel. Exit at Storrow Drive (26B). Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2 miles to the Fenway/Kenmore Exit (1st exit after Massachusetts Ave., on left). Stay left as you exit Storrow Drive going toward the Fenway. Continue to 1st set of lights, staying left, going onto Boylston Street. Go through 4 sets of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 4th set of lights. Logan International Airport is a mere four miles from the Hynes Convention Center and can be reached by subway for a $1.70 fare or by taxi for approximately $20.00.

FROM Harvard Square:

Follow Massachusetts Avenue toward Boston, through Central Square, past MIT. Cross the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge over the Charles River. Go through 5 sets of lights, staying left, to the 6th set of lights at Boylston Street. Turn left onto Boylston Street. Go through the next set of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 2nd set of lights.

FROM the Waterfront, North Station, Quincy Market:

Get onto Rte. 93 North and take the Storrow Drive Exit (26 B), staying left descending exit ramp. Go through tunnel on the left, onto Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2 miles to the Fenway/Kenmore Exit (1st exit after Massachusetts Ave., on left). Stay left as you exit Storrow Drive going toward the Fenway. Continue to 1st set of lights, staying left, going onto Boylston Street. Go through 4 sets of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 4th set of lights.

FROM the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. 90 East):

Take Exit 22 (Prudential/ Copley Place). Stay left as you exit and turn onto Huntington Avenue, staying right while on Huntington Avenue. At the next set of lights (Belvidere Street), take a right. Follow the curve in Belvedere Street to the next right hand turn in front of the Sheraton Boston Hotel driveway, bearing right onto Dalton Street. At lights turn right onto Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s will be on your right, with the main entrance driveway immediately after the 1st set of lights on Boylston Street.

FROM Rhode Island:

Take Rte. 95 North to Rte. 93 North. Continue on Rte. 93 and follow directions below from Cape Cod.

FROM Cape Cod/South Shore Rte. 3 North/Rte. 93 North:

Follow signs to Boston (Rte. 93 North) – Take Exit 16 (Andrew Square Exit). Take left at traffic light at top of ramp – onto Southampton Street. Take slight right onto Massachusetts Ave. Continue straight about 1 mile to Boylston Street. At light take right onto Boylston Street. After the 2nd set of lights, the Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on your immediate right.

FROM New Hampshire Rte 3 South/Rte. 93 South:

From Rte. 3 South, follow to the very end, onto Rte. 128 North. Stay on Rte. 128 North to the Rte. 93 cloverleaf, taking the 1st exit, Rte. 93 South. Follow Rte. 93 South staying to the far right as you get closer to Boston. Take Storrow Drive Exit (26 B). Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2 miles to the Fenway/Kenmore Exit (1st exit after Massachusetts Ave., on left). Stay left as you exit Storrow Drive going toward the Fenway. Continue to 1st set of lights, staying left, going onto Boylston Street. Go through 4 sets of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 4th set of lights.

FROM Rte. 2 East:

Follow Rte. 2 East to the end, staying right at the end, bearing right at the last set of lights. Pass Alewife MBTA Station on your right, through all sets of lights to the rotary. Enter the rotary, taking the 2nd turnoff, keeping Fresh Pond on your right, to the next rotary. Bear right immediately at that rotary, keeping Fresh Pond on your right again, onto Fresh Pond Parkway, continue for about 1/2 mile curving left up the hill to the set of lights. Continue through the succeeding lights to the Soldiers Field Road/Memorial Drive Intersection, staying right, keeping Buckingham, Brown & Nichols Academy on your right, but changing lanes in front of the school to the left to enter Storrow Drive East over the brick bridge, crossing the Charles River and onto Storrow Drive East. Follow Storrow Drive to the Fenway/Kenmore Square Exit, merging at the top of the ramp and crossing over to the left lane. Continue to 1st set of lights, staying left, going onto Boylston Street. Go through 4 sets of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 4th set of lights.

FROM Maine:

Take 95 South to 93 South (Exit 37A). Take 93 South to Storrow Drive (Exit 26B). Follow Storrow Drive approximately 2 miles to the Fenway/Kenmore Exit (1st exit after Massachusetts Ave., on left). Stay left as exiting Storrow Drive toward the Fenway. Continue to 1st set of lights, staying left, going onto Boylston Street. Go through 4 sets of lights on Boylston Street. The Hynes Convention Center’s main entrance driveway will be on the right immediately after going through the 4th set of lights.

Driving Directions From Hynes Convention Center to Highways

To I-90 Westbound from Huntington Avenue:

Head West on Huntington Avenue. Take first right onto Belvidere Street. Follow the curve in Belvedere Street to the next right hand turn in front of the Sheraton Boston Hotel driveway, bearing right onto Dalton Street. At lights turn right onto Boylston Street. At the fifth set of lights, turn right onto Clarendon Street. Go one block and turn right onto St James Street. Follow St. James street through one set of lights and follow signs directly to I-90 West.

To I-93 Southbound and I-93 Northbound from Huntington Avenue:

Head West on Huntington Avenue. Take second left onto Massachusetts Ave. Continue on Massachusetts Ave about 1 mile. The Boston Medical Center will be on left. After the Boston Medical Center, take left onto the Mass Ave Connector and follow signs to I-93 Northbound and Southbound.

To I-90 Westbound from Boylston Street:

Head East on Boylton Street, moving into the right lanes. Turn right onto Clarendon Street. Go one block and turn right onto St James Street. Follow St. James street through one set of lights and follow signs directly to I-90 West.

To I-93 Southbound and I-93 Northbound from Boylston Street:

Head East on Boylston street, moving into the left lanes. Turn left at Boylston Street and follow to Storrow Drive. Turn right onto Storrow Drive East. Follow Storrow Drive East towards signs for I-93 Northbound and Southbound.
