A sea turtle was rescued after becoming stranded in Plymouth.

A large dog is being credited with saving the turtle’s life.

Veda the dog was spending the day at the beach with her owner when she spotted the turtle.

Veda found a loggerhead sea turtle washed up on shore, stranded and struggling to move.

Veda’s owner, Leah, contacted a marine biologist she know who was able to send a rescue crew to pick it up and bring it to the New England Aquarium in Quincy.

Aquarium workers said Veda spotted the turtle in the nick of time.

Veda is a rescue dog, which Leah said gave her the instincts to save the turtle’s life.

The turtle is now doing well.
