Kansas (WHDH) — A dog saves a family from a burning home in Kansas.
The 4-year-old woke up everyone in the house when the flames started coming out of a vent in the attic early Friday morning.
The flames eventually spread to the entire house.
The family credits the dog for making sure everyone got out safely.
“He came to my bedroom door and really started raising Cane so I got up,” said the homeowner. “He saved our lives. I mean, if it wouldn’t have been for him, the smoke would have got us before the fire did.”
Fire officials believe the cause of the fire was electrical.
