CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago authorities say 17-year-old twin brothers died in an early morning drive-by shooting on the city’s North Side.

The brothers were standing outside around 3:15 a.m. Sunday when a passing car fired shots. The Cook County medical examiner’s office says both were shot multiple times and pronounced dead at hospitals.

Authorities say the car sped away. A caller reported gunfire to police and when officers responded they found the brothers. Police are investigating. No arrests have been made.

The twins were identified as Edwin and Edward Bryant, juniors at a Chicago high school.

A basketball coach tells The Chicago Sun-Times that Edward played basketball for Marshall High School and the Chicago Demons, a youth basketball program. Edwin played basketball until middle school.

Autopsies are scheduled for Monday.
