MEMPHIS (WHDH) — A woman in Memphis claims a man in line behind her at a Kroger supermarket attacked her because her transaction was taking too long.

Megan Wilson said she was turning to walk away when she accidentally spilled her drink on a man in line behind her. She said he then grabbed her by the back of the head and smashed her face into her shopping cart. Surveillance video shows Wilson apparently throwing her drink at the man before he lunged at her.

“Everything kind of went black for a minute and when I came to, I was on the ground,” said Wilson.

Wilson said the man had been harassing her before the attack because he was sick of waiting. Wilson, an extreme couponer, admits it took around 20 minutes for her to check out.

Police said Wilson had a small scratch on her forehead and refused medical treatment at the scene. Wilson said she has a possible cracked rib, a hip strain, bruises and a knot on her head. She said she wants Kroger to take action.

Wilson declined to comment after police released the surveillance video. Police are still looking for the man seen lunging at her.
