CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (WHDH) — Boston Firefighters were called back to the scene of a destructive fire in Charlestown.

Hot spots reignited inside the charred building on Bunker Hill Street.

Calls to the department came in late Friday night. People said they saw smoke coming from the roof.

Fire crews remained on scene for much of the day.

The building caught fire Friday morning in frigid temperatures, which made it dangerous and very difficult for crews to put out.

Six apartments were damaged, and more than 20 people were forced out of their homes.

The cause remains under investigation.
