BOSTON (WHDH) - Five people were injured after police said a fire truck collided with a car and caused a chain reaction crash.
The crash happened at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Dartmouth Street in the Back Bay. According to the Boston Fire Department, the engine was traveling to a call on Boylston Street with lights and siren deployed when it collided with another vehicle.
The engine then struck a parked car and several other vehicles were damaged in what one witness called a “chain reaction.”
Boston Fire said four firefighters on the engine, as well as one person in the other vehicle, were transported to Massachusetts General Hospital. Three of the firefighters have since been released.
