OSTERVILLE, Mass. (WHDH) — Police said someone spotted the flare while walking on the beach around noon.
The area was blocked off while the State Police bomb squad investigated the device.
State Police said it was a phosphorous military flare.
Officials examined the flare and determined it’s not dangerous.
