BOSTON (WHDH) - The Flutie Foundation held an event Friday to raise money for autism awareness and distribute donations to various autism organizations.
Former Boston College football star and Natick native Doug Flutie started the foundation 18 years ago. His son, Dougie, has autism. Since it was started, the Flutie Foundation has raised more than $14 million.
More than 40 agencies attended Friday’s event, hosted by 7’s Christa Delcamp. More than $400,000 was awarded to the organizations.
