BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) — A former New Hampshire state lawmaker charged with trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual encounter is scheduled to appear before a judge to determine if he should remain free on bail or go to jail while awaiting trial.

Former Republican state Rep. Kyle Tasker, of Nottingham, resigned in March after his arrest on drug charges and a charge of trying to lure a minor for sex. The 31-year-old was released on bail and ordered to refrain from using alcohol or drugs. Last month, he was arrested on a drunken driving charge following a three-car accident.

The Rockingham County Attorney’s Office has requested that a judge revoke Tasker’s bail following the DUI arrest.

A hearing was scheduled Friday.
