FRAMINGHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - A Framingham State University police officer was arrested for inappropriate conduct near a student.

According to reports, the officer was on duty on Saturday afternoon when the incident occurred.

He’s facing several charges including lewdness and witness intimidation.

The university has begun investigating the incident.

The school released the following statement:

“The officer was immediately relieved of his duties…Framingham State University regard the safety of our students, faculty and staff as paramount in our duty to the University community and we will continue to hold our officers’ conduct to the highest standards. The situation was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the University.”
