ROWLEY, MASS. (WHDH) - A Georgetown police officer was rushed to the hospital Monday night after police said he was rear-ended on the highway in Rowley.

The crash happened on the northbound side of I-95 near exit 54. Police said the officer was working detail near a construction site when his cruiser was rear-ended.

The officer and the driver of the other car were both taken to the hospital. Police said the crash is under investigation but drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors.

The officer has non-life threatening injuries.
